Pot Belly Sweet Pies are here AND we are opening in Maclean!!

Hello Again,

We have lots of great news!

We already knew, but now it is official, Yamba has just been voted 'Best Town in Australia'. We invite all the new visitors to come and try a pie.

Our Pot Belly Sweet Pies are finally here. We will be trying out a few different ones over the next few months until we all find our favorites.

Pumpkin and Maple Pie:
Traditional Canadian recipe. Made with pure Canadian maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of ground ginger. Traditionally served cold, but delicious warm with cream.

White Chocolate Cheesecake Pie:
Belgium white chocolate, mascarpone cheese, cream, vanilla bean, a touch of lemon and a burst of raspberry. Delicate and creamy.

Apple & Raspberry Crumble Pie:
A delicious Apple & Raspberry fruit pie made with the traditional flavours of vanilla bean, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. We also add cream and a buttery crumble to make it extra special.

Chocolate Cointreau Mousse Pie:
Belgium milk chocolate mousse topped fresh strawberries (when available). Rich and silky.

And now arguably our most exciting news since we opened in Yamba:
WE ARE OPENING IN MACLEAN ON TUESDAY THE OF 7TH APRIL.
That's right, you will be able to get a Pot Belly in Yamba or Maclean!

We will be taking fresh pies across to Maclean from our pie kitchen in Yamba every morning. Our address is 14 River st Maclean (right next door to Big River Bait and Tackle).
We will be opening just in time for Easter and the Maclean Highland Gathering. We have added a traditional Scottish recipe to our menu to celebrate:

STEAK BALMORAL, Steak, mushrooms, scotch whisky, wholegrain mustard and cream.
It is delicious and is already outselling many of the old favorites.

Have a great Easter.
See you at Yamba or Maclean.

Our first few weeks

Hello again.

Well we have been open now for five weeks and I have only just now had the time to sit down in front of the computer- and that is a great thing.

We were frantically busy from the moment we opened the doors. We could not have opened at a better time with thousands of people enjoying Yamba during the Xmas break. Things are calming down a bit now- with most of the tourists having headed home so we are catching up on all the little things we should have done before we opened.

We have changed the menu slightly, replacing the pork cognac and the turkey pie with a 'surf and turf' (tender chunky steak topped with garlic prawns) and a 'brekky'(steak bacon and cheese topped with a fresh egg) pie.

The Aussie pie is our most popular- we are selling hundreds of them per day. The 'lamb with mint and rosemary', the 'garlic prawn' and the 'scallop mornay' are also proving to be favourites.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past few weeks- especially the Yamba locals who we are trying to look after as best we can.

Our sweet pies will start in a few weeks and we hope to have a covered seating area on the grass outside the front of the shop very soon.

I will let everyone know when we have finalised the sweet menu.
